Obie is an
exceptionally sound young dog who continues to improve beyond our expectations.
Low set body, a Bordeaux type head and powerful, driving movement as only a
Bordeaux with a well angulated rear can! Truly a dog capable of hunting,
fighting, baiting or guarding as the Dogues of old would have done and certainly
in breeding to maintain the true nature of the breed has to be your ultimate
aim.Obie has a correct
topline and a well angulated rear which is very often lacking in the Bordeaux
but these coupled together are what allows his freedom and strength of movement.
He stands just over 25 inches tall and weighs 69 kg so he is not only agile
but very substantial.
His hip score at 22
months of age was 0/0 (FCI - A+) and he is elbow dysplasia and OCD free. In
these times when many breeds are no longer capable of performing the tasks for
which they were bred Obie has a great deal to offer. Needless to say, being a
son of Tazz, he is bred in the purple and we can see many of her qualities in
him. He will be bred to Verona providing a good line and type breeding on the
litter of Hugo, Tazz and Bibi and will no doubt feature in our future breeding
plans.
His show record to date
has been excellent - he has been awarded countless classes in Group and in Show
but more importantly many of these have been awarded by European judges. He is a
multi Best In Group winner and has countless R/U BIG awards. He and his mother
are the only Best in Group winning Bordeaux in Australia, with Tazz also being a
multi Best in Show All Breeds winner. They are also the only Bordeaux to be
awarded group placings under European judges. He has been awarded 3 Royal CC’s
beginning at the tender age of just 14 months.
